Morocco’s push for French visitors: will more regions share the tourism gains?

Morocco’s National Tourism Office presented a strategy in Paris in September to strengthen the country’s appeal in France. It also aims to reach travellers in more French cities and spread visits more widely across Morocco.

More direct connections

The ONMT expects growth in point-to-point routes from French regional cities during winter 2026-27. Wider access could help Moroccan regions develop accommodation, restaurants and local activities, but air links alone cannot guarantee evenly distributed gains.

Look beyond arrival totals

The stronger measure will be how long visitors stay, where they spend and whether smaller businesses participate. Ground transport, service quality and pressure on local resources will also shape the outcome.
